• Successful trials of Foden 4000 Series trucks fitted with Cummins' new top-power NTAA-465 engine have led the UK truck builder to pledge it will be the first to offer the engine in this country, "probably in the third quarter of the year". Both the 306kW (410hp) and 347kW (465hp) versions will be offered in Foden's 4000 series. The new vehicles will be the first 298kW (400hp)plus tractive units on sale in the UK. Foden says the tractor unit fitted with the 465 will be designated the 4500 Series.
