Thirty,-eight Commercial Vehicles Take Part.

Several hundred motorcars and motor ambulances paraded in Hyde Park, on Saturday afternoon last, on the occasion of the Volunteer inspection by F.-M. Lord French. These were sent by the National Motor Volunteers ; only one commercial motor was included in that section—a Foden.

The Mechanical Transport. Column of the City of London National Guard, which is composed primarily of heavy vehicles, also paraded. The following are the owners who on this occasion were able to lend support, together with the makes of vehicles :—

The 37 heavy motors (the 38th was with the L.V.R. motorcars) were under the charge of the M.T. officers of the National Guard—Messrs. Shrapnell-Smith (Commandant), F. G. Bristow (Adjutant), S. P. Garke and Frank Churchill (Colurnn Commanders), and Thos. Clarkson and J. F. Ciauford (Convoy Commanders). The N.G. motorcars were under the charge of Col.-Commander E. D. Lowy. It is a matter for regret, that, owing to a flaw in the parade organization as a, whole, troops were allowed to march across the line of approach of the motorcars and heavy transport, thus causing inordinate delay. As a censequence, parts of the motor sectiona were only parhally reviewed.
