• Surrey builder and supplier Hall & Co has ordered 41 tippers from Thompsons UK of Croydon, to be supplied in batches throughout the year.
The double-drop-sided tippers, built on a mix of 7.517-tonne Roadrunner, Freighter and Cargo chassis, will be equipped with Edbro front-end tipping gear on upto-10-tonne gross models.
With Hiab cranes mounted behind the cabs of heavier models, Thompsons' own undermount tipgear is specified. Some of the 17tonners will have 6.0m meshsided brick-carrier bodies.
Part of Thompsons' planned expansion, beyond its traditional South Eastern home market, includes the setting up of extra mobile parts sales and service units.
