• Following the general re-organization 81 the Ministry of Transport (CM, August 15) changes are now announced in the formation of the mechanical engineering department, two superintending officers of which, Mr. C. C. Toyne and Mr. J. W. Furness, have been promoted as assistant chief engineers. Mr. Toyne heads a newly formed vehicle inspection division; and Mr. Furness, the mechanical engineering division. Mr. H. Perring continues as chief mechanical engineer.
