TRAFFIC arrangements for London on I May 6, the date of Princess Margaret's wedding, were made known on Tuesday by the Metropolitan Police Commissioner. The processional route, the main approaches to it, and Westminster and Lambeth bridges will be closed to general traffic from 2 a.m. The full list of thoroughfares to be closed from this time until reopened when conditions permit is as follows: Abbey Orchard Street, Abingdon Street, Admiralty Arch, Addington Street, Albert Embankment (north of. Black Prince Road), Allington Street, Birdcage Walk, Bridge Street, Broad Sanctuary, Broadway, Buckingham Gate, Bucking-, ham Palace Road (north of Victoria Street), Cannon Row, Caxton Street. Constitution Hill, Dean Bradley Street, Dean Ryle Street, Dean Stanley Street, Dean Trench Street, Derby Gate, Downing. Buses, taxis and certain vehicles bearing special labels will, however, be allowed ao use the streets, except the processional route itself and abutting streets, until 8.45 a.m. Application for these labels must be made to the Traffic and Transport Department, New Scotland Yard. London, S.W.1.
A diversionary circular route will be signposted by the motoring associations. To avoid Hyde Park, drivers are advised to proceed from Exhibition Road via Kensington Gore, Kensington Road,. Kensington High Street and Kensington Church Street to Bayswater Road.
UNION THREATEN OBJECTION THE Transport and General Workers' Union are resisting a plan by Wallasey Transport Department to reduce the waiting time between the arrival of evening ferry boats at the Seacombe landing stage and the departure of the corresponding buses.
A Union official said that if they were not given a written guarantee that the scheme would be abandoned, they would oppose, before the North Western Traffic commissioners, any application made by the corporation to amend the schedules.
