• An agency whose driver was kidnapped by thieves has stepped up security by sending an additional driver on the contract.
Keith Blackey, 42, a driver with Caine, Wilts-based Sevemside Personnel, was held up at gunpoint when his reefer and load of meat was stolen from an industrial estate in Chippenham on 11 April.
He was held up, forced into a car and driven around for an hour before being tied up and left in a barn.
Richard Guy, managing director of The Real Meat Company, whose product Blackey was carrying, says he was attacked in the "vulnerable seconds" between securing the alarmed gates of a depot and getting back into his vehicle.
