IT was announced at a recent sitting
of the Eastern Traffic Commissioners that ft satisfactory agreement had been reached between the corporation. and the local private operators of Southend-. on-Sea. l'he terms of agreement were
Loutlined in our issue dated August 2, and Southend Corporation, Westcliff Motor Services, Ltd., Edwards Hall Services, Ltd., and Borough Services, Ltd., are the parties concerned.
At this sitting Westcliff Motor Services, Ltd., applied for permission to run services from Southend Pier to any point within a 10-mile radius and/or to London, the object being to cater for boat passengers stranded at Southend, at night or in the early morning. The services would be worked only when normal transport facilities were not available, and only on licensed routes.
