Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NATIONAL TRAVEL has applied for authorization from the Traffic Commissioners to run throughexpress coach services from Liverpool to Lourdes and from Newcastle to Rome. Mr Geoff Webb, National's express services planning manager, told CM he was hopeful that the services could start this year.

Two journeys are planned weekly on the Lourdes route, one operated throughout by FRAM of Toulouse, the other by National. The single weekly journey to Rome is planned for operation by National.

FRAM has applied for the authorisations necessary on the Continent. These should be considered at the same time as National's to help speed the application.

Liverpool to Lourdes is scheduled for 34 hours at a return fare of £35. Newcastle to Rome 58 hours at £45.50 return.
