Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

for petrol Transits

A NEW fuel saving "Economy Package" option has been made available by Ford for Transit 75, 90 and 115 models.

Fuel savings of between 13.6 and 23.9 per cent were recorded when tests were carried out by Ford, officially observed by the Royal Automobile Club, using a standard vehicle and one fitted with the Economy Package. Changes to the two-litre V4 petrol engine include carburetter and ignition-timing modifications and a throttle stop which limits engine speed.

Maximum power has been reduced from 55.2kW to 29.1kW (74 to 39 bhp). Maximum power is now developed at 3,100 rpm instead of 4,500rpm but maximum torque remains almost unaffected at 11 7.5Nm (86.41 bft) at 1,500rpm against 137.3Nrn (100.9 lbft) at 2,750 rpm.

The normal gearbox is replaced by the one normally fitted to 1.7-litre-engined vehicles. This has a considerably lower bottom gear. A 4.11:1 back axle ratio is specified which provides a top speed of 104km/ h (65mph).

Ford has also announced average price increases on its commercial vehicle range of 11.98 per cent.
