NAORE than 1,500 services operated IN-lby Scottish bus companies owned by the British Transport Commission are the subject of applications for revised fare-tables lodgedwith the Scottish Licensing Authority. The companies making the applications are the Scottish Motor Traction Co., Ltd., Western S.M.T. Co., Ltd., W. Alexander and Sons, Ltd., and Central S.M.T. Co., Ltd.
Routes covering the whole of southern Scotland are affected, as well numerous local and long-distance express services, such as the LondonEdinburgh-Glasgow runs and those from Scotland to other English centres. No details of the proposed revisions in fares have been made available.
