BAR DELIVERY Services, the jointly owned Whitbread/BRS Southern brewery distribution company, has taken on two operations managers.
Peter Smith takes up the post at BDS's Kentish Town, London depot, the larger of the two distribution centres, with 80,000sqft of warehousing, offices and a business centre.
Mr Smith was originally trained as an engineer in the aircraft industry, but has spent most of his career in transport and distribution, most recently in consumer goods field as operations manager for Imperial Foods.
Mr Smith's counterpart at the new Dunstable centre is Brian West, who joins from Christian Salvesen. Mr West was also trained as an engineer and has 14 years experience as distribution manager for Berger Paints.
