THE LICENCES held by the Yorkshire Traction Co Ltd should be revoked and its service commitments handed over to the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, Mr R. Baker, representing Transport 2000, suggested to th e Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners last week.
Mr Baker told the Commissioners that it would be in the interests of the public for the licences held by the Yorkshire Traction to be revoked and the services taken over by the PTE.
Despite the objection, however, the Commissioners approved Yorkshire Traction's request and gave the company permission to increase its bus fares from between 1p and Bp from March 1.
