A LTHOUGH commercial vehicle in. output in October was lower than in the previous month, exports were somewhat higher both in number and value.

During the month the number ot goods vehicles, passenger vehicles and

battery-elect ricsproduced totalled 20,231, the weekly average being 5,058. Of the total, 19,145 were goods vehicles, road haulage tractors and special types made up as follows: Up to 15-cwt. carrying capacity. 9,841; 15 ewt, to 3 tons, 4,445; 3 tons to 6 tons, 3344;

over 6 tons, 1,715. '

Of the 910 passenger vehicles produced, 666 were single-deck and 229 double-deck motorbuses; there were 15 trolleybuses. During the month. 176 battery-eiectrics were built. Total output during the 10 months ended October was 255,602 units, of which 246,218 were goods vehicles made up of 134,159 under 15 cwt. carrying capacity, 43,809 from 15 "cwt. to 3 tons, 46,504 from 3 tons to 6 tons and 21,746 over 6 tons. In the same period 8,024 passenger vehicles were manufactured-5,949 single-deck and 1,979 double-deck motorbuses and 96 trolleybuses. Flattery-clectrics totalled 1,360.

Excluding dumpers, dump trucks and industrial trucks the number of units exported during October was 11,214. Their value, including the dumpers and trucks, was £8,397,326. For the 10 months ended October 132,660 units valued at £88,377,598 were sent to overseas countries.
