AS a result of an inquiry into the matter, the London and Home Counties Traffic Advisory Committee reports that the provision of a regular passenger service on the River Thames is desirable, provided that it is reliable and comfortable, that the cost to the passenger is not more than by existing traVel facilities, and that the water service is linked up with exist= ing co-ordinated transport services. No undertaking should, however, be commenced unlessthe promoters have sufficient financial support to ensure the permanency of the service. The Committee sees no reason for Government support at this stage.
