Clark's Megastat model in the Global COP/ 20-30 range of diesel and LPG counterbalance forklift trucks, won the innovation award from the Fork Truck Association last year. It was the first with hydrostatic functions totally controlled by an on-board microprocessor, says Clark. Maximum speed, acceleration and deceleration can be set to a particular application. The Power Control system includes the management of the driving and lifting functions as well as that of the engine, delivering the maximum rev/torque ratio at each stage. The microprocessor unit manages the complete drive system to save energy and reduce noise.
