13 ast your mind back through the mists of time to Bird's Eye View 15-21 May this year. You will recall a 1929 Dennis fire engine made an appearance in these hallowed pages. This drew a warm response from John Fallon of Tonaphubble, Co Sligo, who is in the tipper hire business. He owns a 1939 Light Four Dennis. John bought the engine when it went out of commission in 1970. It is in full working order with pumps and ladders at the ready if ever the call should comeā€”an engine can dream can't it? John tells me his Dennis is his pride and joy. I know exactly what he means-1 get goose bumps each time I catch sight of my trusty Reliant Robin.
