Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LEX SERVICE Group, which includes Bees Transport, Carpet Express and Lex Wilkinson, is to pay its employees in Britain 000,000 in the form of company shares following the announcement of its £38.3m pre-tax profit last year.

Lex Wilkinson managing cfirector Colin Millbanks told CM that half his company's workers would qualify for payment because they had worked for the group for five years. The payment would be to the value of three per cent of their 1982/83 earnings.

Mr Millbanks told potential customers in London that technological innovation played a substantial role in Lex Wilkinson's development, but that parcels and distribution would always be "a people business".

Lex had a fundamentally different attitude towards its employees from many companies in Britain, he said. The common thrust towards imposing control to achieve efficiency was counter-productive, he said.
