I NOTICED in Commercial Motor's Coach & Bus News of March 24 that the DTp Permanent Secretary, Mr Lazarus, told the House of Commons Transport Committee that the West Midlands Metropolitan County was £1.3 million over the Protected Expenditure Limit for 1983/84.
For your readers' knowledge, our planned expenditure for revenue support in the 1984/85 budget brings us UNDER our Protected Expenditure Limit by 0.5 million.
