MID-TYNE Transport Co. Ltd., Hexham, Northumberland has been taken over by Sowerby's Tours, of Gilsland, who are to maintain the firm's existing bus services. The MidTyne firm who have 25 buses, was taken over by a Receiver several years ago, but since then all debts have been cleared.
Sowerby's is to introduce an accident-free bonus scheme for drivers on Mid-Tyne, which will be known as Tyne Valley Coaches.
