TRANSPORT EFFICIENCY IS THE THEME THIS YEAR

A DATE for your dairy: September 21. This is the day on which four distinguished speakers will be presenting papers to COMMERCIAL MOTOR'S 1967 Fleet Management Conference, for which the theme of "Efficiency in Transport" has been chosen. The one-day conference this year is at the Majestic Hotel, Harrogate.

We shall be publishing full details of authors and papers, together with conference reservation forms, in next week's issue of COMMERCIAL MOTOR. Meanwhile I can tell you that "Efficiency in road haulage" will be presented by Mr. Trevor H. Thornton, managing director of Northern Ireland Carriers Ltd.; "Efficiency in public passenger transport" by Mr. T. W. H. Gailey, chairman of the Tilling Association; "Efficiency in goods transport from the viewpoint of the user" by Mr. Felix Wentworth, distribution director of Schweppes; and "Efficiency in commercial vehicle design and maintenance" by Mr. R. A. Fryars, chief engineer, truck division, Leyland Motor Corporation.

Once again Lord Chesham will be our conference chairman.

This annual conference has become an important event for manufacturers and operators and, as in the past three years, plenty of time will be allotted to discussion periods so that delegates can participate fully.

Look out for the booking details in COMMERCIAL MOTOR of April 28: early reservation will be essential this year.
