Peter Yorke has been appointed a director of East Yorkshire Motor Services Ltd.. in place of Lord Buckhurst, who has resigned. P. E. Holdright has been appointed Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co. Ltd. area manager for manufacturers' sales in the Midlands and North of England.

H. F. Elson has been appointed sales director of Dunedin Dieseltune Ltd. Mr. Eison was previously home sales manager.

••••• *********************** Sir George Harriman announced on Wednesday that he would retire on November 1 as chairman and a director of the British Leyland Motor Corporation and would simultaneously retire from his directorships of other companies in the Group. He has accepted the board's invitation to become president of the Corporation. Sir Donald Stokes, chief executive, has been appointed chairman and managing director while Sir William Lyons and Lewis Whyte have been appointed deputy chairmen. Dr. Albert Fogg, Jack Plane and George Turnbull have been appointed deputy managing directors. John Barber continues as finance and planning director, with Ronald Lucas as treasurer.

The Corporation has also announced the appointment of the management structure of the new operating divisions which will take

effect from November 1, They are: • Austin Morris division: managing director, G. H. Turnbull.

Specialist Car division: chairman (Jaguar) Sir William Lyons, chairman (Rover) Sir George Farmer, director and general manager (Triumph) C. Swindle.
