Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Northern Counties Motor and Engineering Co. Ltd., Empire House, Mount Stuart Square, Cardiff

FOUR double-deck bus bodies are shown by Northern Counties, including what must be the most interesting stage-service bus at the Show—the 85-seat front entrance/ staircase and rear exit/staircase project bus for Walsall on the new Daimler CR 36 chassis. This vehicle is shown on the chassis builder's stand, however, and will be discussed in more detail next week.

The three buses on the bodybuilder's stand are all designed for one-man operation, one of them being of the inter-urban type. This is a 30ft 8in. 78-seater on a Daimler Fleetline chassis for City of Oxford Motor Services Ltd. and has a front entrance/exit. Smiths 1500 blower heating systems are fitted in each saloon and the double-folding entrance doors are electrically operated.

Nottingham City Transport and Wigan Corporation Transport will be the eventual operators of the other two double-deckers on this stand. Both are on Leyland Atlantean chassis and have front entrances and central exits. The Nottingham bus has an overall length of 32ft 2.5in. and a wheelbase of 16ft 9in. and seats 76 passengers with provision for 15 standing passengers. A 16ft 3in. wheelbase chassis forms the basis of the Wigan bus, which has an overall length of 30ft 8in, and seats 71 with provision for 16 standing.

Both buses have air-operated entrance and exit doors and Radiomobile passenger address systems. Blower-type heating in each saloon is by Clayton Dewandre on the Nottingham bus and by Smiths on the Wigan bus.
