Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Duramin Engineering Co. Ltd., Harbour Road, Lydney, Glos.

ALTHOUGH primarily a body-building concern, Duramin is showing two of its semi-trailers. A skeletal container carrier capable of carrying any single ISO container, or combination of them from 20ft to 40ft long, features a very heavy main frame. It is 20in. deep, has 6in. by 0-5in. flanges and has been designed to accept the high-point loadings imposed by a short container which is heavily laden. Rolled hollow-section outriggers, stress relieved to the main beam flanges carry the twistlocks and the trailer is mounted on a widespread tandem bogie with single taper-leaf spring 20,000lb axles carrying 16.5 x 8.625in. three-line air-pressure operated brakes and tubeless tyre equipment.

The second trailer shown is a specialpurpose unit carrying a Duramin Bulkmobile body. The single-axle running gear features taper-leaf springs with the suspension points rigged outboard of the standard 2.75ft wide chassis frame to provide greater stability. It has a 20,000lb axle and two-speed landing gear.

A 32.5ft long flat-platform semi-trailer fitted with a container loading and landing device is shown on the demonstration park.
