One of those questions which has been before the Blackpool Town Council for years but which is still far from solution is the proposal to centraltze the whole of the municipal transport. At present each department has its own motorcars and other vehicles. The proposal to bring the whole of this fleet under one department has received consideration for a long time and visits have been paid to other towns where the central transport idea has been adopted with good results, The Blackpool General Purposes Committee has held a special meeting to consider reports from the chiefs of several of the corporation departments which would come under the scheme. The sub-committee which has had charge of the matter was reappointed, with additions, and further inquiries are to be made before a definite decision is readied.

Salford Bus Points.

Reporting on the Salford Corporation. Bill, the law committeeof the Stretford Urban District Council states that; after' lengthy negotiations with the Salford representatives, a clause (in place of an agreement as at first proposed) prohibiting the running of omnibuses on tramway routes existing and authorized without the consent of the local authorities was secured, provided that if any of the authorities grants a licence to run omnibuses along any such tramway route to any other local authority or any company, body or person, the provisions of the clause are to cease to apply as regards that particular route.

A clause was also obtained to the effect that nothing in the Dill should prejudice or affect the provisions of any lease of tramways, whether now existing or to be granted at any future date.

1st Cavalry Division Supply Column, R.A.S.C., Reunion.

Amongst the first troops to disembark in France during August, 1914, was the let Cavalry Division Supply Column, R.A.S.C., and it Wag in respect of the work of this column that many of The Commercial Motor despatches from the front, the first of which appeared on September 3rd, 1914, and which

were written by a member of the editorial staff, were concerned.

It is very interesting to find that strong efforts are being made to get into touch with as many as possible of the old members of the column with a view to arranging reunion functions. As a matter of fact, a smoking concert and two annual dinners have already been held, but it is hoped that other officers and men al the column will get into touch with the hon. secretary of the Old Members' Association, Mr. S. Roberts, 32, Bradford Road, S.E.26.

The second annual concert has been arranged to take place on Saturday, October 15th, at 6.30 p.m., at the White Hart Hotel, 39, Holborn, E.C.1. Tickets for this can be obtained from the secretary.
