WITH THE WORLD getting used to hybrid passenger cars, it's only a matter of time before the concept is extended to delivery vans.
Mercedes-Benz continues to develop its Sprinter; now Iveco has joined in. Its Daily Hybrid 5012C combines a conventional diesel engine with a generator and electric motor.
Seen at the Show in minibus form, the hybrid is expected to power vans before too long.
The 116hp 2.3HPI common-rail engine is combined with a reversible AC engine producing 45kW/240Nm.
