Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

YESTERDAY (Friday) was the last day to place objections about the proposed lorry ban to the Greater London Council's transport committee.

The GLC expected to receive around 2,000 letters from all sources by the closing date. A GLC spokesman told CM that they have had many phone inquiries about the ban. He claimed also that there was some false information in circulation.

The committee meets on November 21. A decision will be made then about the ban if the analysis of letters is completed. If it is not, then the committee meets again on December 12.

The GLC has three options once it has the reports on the public consultation: throw the lorry ban idea out, decide to hold a public inquiry or go ahead with the scheme.
