The depleted list of civil servants honoured include Department of Transport deputy secretary A. J. Rosenfeld, who is a CB (Commander of the Bath), and DTp higher executive officer G. C. Bennett, and senior executive officer A. E. Groves who are MBEs.

British Empire Medals have gone to one-time Liverpool City Transport electrician T. Devine, Roadline UK cashier P. M. Hutchinson, Eastern BRS yard foreman R. Knights, United Automobile coach driver H. G. Oakley, Scammell Motors leading hand inspector R. F. Wadcock, and London Transport district assistant (coachmaker) F. E. Whelton, FORMER European transport commissioner Richard Burke has been re-elected to the Irish Dail (Parliament). Mr Burke, who is a member of the Fine Gael party, won a seat in the Dublin West constituency, and has been tipped as a possible Foreign Minister if Fine Gael wins control of the tied Dail on June 30.
