MR. GEORGE F. Smuotur has been appointed a director of Tilling-Stevens, Ltd.

SIR HARRY PILKINGTON and MR, ARTHUR PILKINGTON have joined the board of the Triplex Safety Glass Co., Ltd.

Ma. RODERICK MACKENZIE, general manager of Halifax Transport Department, has been appointed to sucoeed MR. ROBERT BEVERIDGE as general manager of Scottish Omnibuses, Ltd. He will take up his new duties in about three months' time. Mr. MacKenzie served his apprenticeship in the workshops of Edinburgh Transport Department, and from 1939-41 was assistant engineer. He was general manager and engineer of Warrington Transport Department from 1945-49, when he became chief engineer to the Midland Division of British Road Services. In 1952 he was appointed to Halifax. Mr. Beveridge, who will retire when Mr. MacKenzie takes over, started his transport career in 1901 with the former Great North of Scotland Railway. He began his association with the Scottish Motor Traction Co., Ltd., in 1914. He is president of the Scottish Road Passenger Transport Association, and nokls other public offices.
