• Michelin and Mannesman are planning a joint venture to produce truck and car wheels. The new company is expected to target Eastern Europe, Asia and South America. Mannesman Kronprinz produces wheels in Germany; Michelin has plants in France and Spain.
• The SMMT Commercial Vehicle and Bodywork Shaw will be staged at the NEC in Birmingham next week from 25-27 February.
• The Tracker stolen vehicle recovery system will be on display at the CV and Bodywork Show for the first time including the latest option, Tracker 24 Hour Monitor. The company says more than £20m-worth of stolen vehicles have been recovered since the system's launch in 1993.
