Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Two new products from the Ray Smith Group will be seen for the first time at the CV and Bodywork Show at the NEC, Birmingham. An anodised aluminium tail-lift and an electronically controlled lifting floor which has automatic levelling will both be on display. The anodised aluminium tail-lift platform is around 35% lighter than comparable steel platforms. It will be available in lengths up to two metres. The assembly is bolted so it can be repaired cheaply if damaged. A ribbed surface provides good grip; flashing red LED marker lights are fitted at each corner and foot-operated safety flaps are designed to prevent the load sliding off the edge of the lift. The lifting-floor assembly will be on display in a Montracon chassisless van-bodied semi-trailer in John Lewis livery. The 12-tonne-capacity lifting deck is raised on four hydraulic rams. If the height between the rams varies by lOmm or more the electronic control unit will adjust the hydraulic flow to level the floor again.

When the floor has been raised to the required height, lugs beside each ram automatically swing inward to form ledges to support the floor. All electronic circuitry is waterproofed and twin electro-hydraulic pumps are used to provide backup if one pump fails.
