Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HOW does one go about obtaining type approval and whose responsibility is it are just two of the questions to be raised at a one-day conference on Type Approval for Trucks. Sponsored by Transport and Distribution Press Ltd, it takes place at the Café Royal, London, on Wednesday March 3.

The current systems for type approval and the proposed legislation will be covered by Col Maurice Smith, who was until recently with the Department of the Environment handling negotiations on type approval on behalf of the DoE in Brussels.

What type approval means in practical terms for manufacturers will be dealt with by Mr Dennis Broom, technical manager of the SMMT. The other speakers will be Mr Peter Slaughter, product manager of Crane Fruehauf, and Mr Brian Faulex, executive engineer of Ford.
