TT is worthy of note that several of the Blackpool coach owners are showing commendable pertinacity in maintaining enntinuity of the daily services, which proved such a successful feature of the past season's tours arrangements. The principal daily services are those to Manchester, Liverpool, Bolton, Blackburn and to the Yorkshire towns, and on all the routes there is an element of vigorous competition for traffic, although the rates do not reveal any outstanding dispari ties. They are, however, admittedly very low, working out at about id. per passenger per mile. In each case the journeys are made by saloon coach, a type of vehicle which has become extremely popular at Blackpool during the past season.

B24 The Manchester faro is quoted by Spencers Motors, Ltd., which runs a Lands, at 3s. for the single journey, 6d. return, and extended return 5s. 6c1. Messrs. Wm. Salisbury and Sons, who also operate Lancias, charge 4s, for the return journey and 5s. 6d. for deferred return tickets. For tours to Liverpool the same fare is charged as for Manchester. Wood Brothers (Blackpool), Ltd., also specialises on the Manchester, Bolton, Charley and Liverpool daily services and operates Lancia Saloons. Its fares for the run to Bolton and Charley are 3s. single, 3s. 6d. return and 5s. long-date return, and for Blackburn 2s. 6d. single and 3s. return.

No doubt many coach owners will question whether a town of the also of Blackpool can satisfactorily maintain three daily services, even to such big cities as Manchester and Liverpool, in the winter season.

Two companies are serving the Yorkshire territory. Messrs. W. Armitage and Sons are sending a coach daily to Burnley, Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and Leeds, with connections to Harrogate, Darlington and Newcastle-on-Tyne. Messrs. Walker, Taylor and Sons run coaches to the principal Yorkshire towns on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The largest fleets, however, are laid up for the winter and will not emerge from their hibernation until the Easter holiday. The daily services from Manchester and Liverpool to Blackpool have been suspended for the winter months.
