Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

According to a recent report from Teheran the peasant farmers of Persia strongly adhere to the primitive methods of their ancestors in the matter of agricultural pursuit s. Aside from this conservatism, probably the most important impediment to the sale of agricultural tractors in Persia is the cost of liquid fuel, which, although produced in the country,

is high in price because transportation facilities are so inadequate. Lack of roads" also makes it difficult to get the tractors into the interior of the country. Persia appears to offer only a limited market for tractors for agricultural purposes, although there are possibilities for their use in connection -with railway and highway Construction. Result of Rotherham Appeal.

In the case of an appeal by Mr. James Guest against the refusal of the Rotherham Watch Committee to grant him licences for eight buses to ply for hire between Rotherham and Doncaster, the Ministry of Transport has decided that the licences should be granted, subject to the applicant giving an undertaking, of a nature not more onerous than that observed by the Joint Municipal Omnibus Service, to discourage the use og his buses by persorp wishing to travel only over the tramway, from Dalton to Rotherham.

A Tyre Company's Purchase.

The Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. has recently purchased 29,000 acres of rubber-growing land in Sumatra. This additional acreage more than doubles the company's plantation holdings, and further hdvances its position in the control of the production of raw materials necessary for the manufacture of Goodyear products. It is of interest to know that, in addition to owning rubber plantations, the company has a 45,000-acre cotton plantation, whilst it operates its own coal mines.
