At a recent meeting of the Council of the Institution of Automobile Engineers it was decided to raise the fees" ic respect of the practical tests in con nection with the issue of I.A.E. repair' certificates to competent mechanics. These, which will be effective on applications .after December 31, 1937, are as follow :—Practical. test in Section A (mechanical) or Section B (electrical), £1 10s.; full re-test, £1; re-test in one subsection, 10s.
New candidates, or those who are eligible or have not-notified their intention of having a re-test, :should submit their applications without delay while the old rates are in operation. Forms are obtainable from the secretary, 12, Hobart Place, London, S.W.1.
