He is at present chief assistant traffic manager of Maidstone and District Motor Services Ltd and East Kent Road Car Co Ltd. W. M. L. Gunning, 39, becomes assistant traffic manager of the South Wales Transport following the retirement of Idris Thomas. Mr Gunning joined S. Wales from Red and White Motor Services in 1971.

R. H. Farmer, chairman of the Atlas Express Group, is joining the board of Armaguard Ltd, the Nottingham-based armoured car and security organization, which is to become a wholly owned subsidiary of Mayne Nickless Ltd, MN, with a staff of more than 7000, operates in the general transport, forwarding and security fields, and has hq in Melbourne, Australia. Atlas Express and MN have been linked for several years in the field of international transport. Bruce R. Redpath, md of the MN group, joins the board of Armaguard as chairman. Derek Gee continues as Arm aguard md.

D. F. Simons, 36, has been appointed director of the fleets division of the Scottish Automobile Co Ltd. Another SAC Group appointment is mat of G. Wilkinson, .48, as director, Milburn-Wilkinson Ltd, distributor and dealer for British Leyland commercial vehicles. Terry White has been appointed managing director of Payne Motor Spares Ltd, a member of the International Chanrai Group of Companies. Mr White joined the company in May 1972.

Michael S. Drury has joined the refrigeration division of J. H. Sparshatt lCoachbuilders) Ltd„ of Portsmouth, to handle the sale of refrigerated and insulated bodywork.

Ernest Yeomans, 46, has been appointed an associate director of SKF (UKI Ltd, with responsibility for technical services and design, research and development, and management information services. Mr Yeomans was formerly executive, technical services and design.

A. Turpie has been appointed office manager of the Cumbernauld factory of Taskers Trailers Ltd, Previously Mr Turpie was regional service manager to Gulf Oil (Great Britain) Ltd.

Sid Richardson has joined Lubrication Equipment Ltd as southern area sales manager. Mr Richardson's commercial vehicle industry career started in 1934 with British Trailer Company.

John K. Heap has been appointed manager, W. J. Boyes & Son Ltd and its subsidiaries. the ERF distributors for Essex, Kent, Sussex, Surrey and East London. Mr Heap was office manager of Prices (Earl Shilton) in 1971 and took over the responsibilities of depot manager of the Orsett depot in September 19. F. R Walters has retired as managing director

of Ernest Lake Ltd and Harvey Frost and Co Ltd of Bishop's Stortford, Herts, subsidiary companies of the Brockhouse Organization of West Bromwich. He is succeeded as md by his brother, H. J. Walters.
