The weekly average of production rose from 5.441 in January to 5,683 in February. The total for the month was 22,732.. of which 14,728 were for export and 8,004 for the home market. Including dumpers and dump trucks. industrial trucks and trailers, the value of new commercial vehicles exported in February was £5,054,947. Figures issued by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders show that the number of units was 10,633, but this total does not include dumpers and dump trucks, and industrial trucks. January's commercial-vehicle exports were valued at £6,316,304, and the number was 14,032.

• In the first two months of the year, 24,654 commercial vehicles, valued at £11,368,691, were exported. Used commercial vehicles shipped numbered 579 (f405,446), and agricultural tractors 18,905 (£6,424,147). In addition, parts and accessories valued at £10,456,948 were shipped.
