The Ccmunittee met at the Automobile Club on Friday last at six o'clock. There were present Lt.-Col. R. E. B. Crompton, C.B., in the chair, Messrs. Lloyd. H. Baxendale (Pickford's, Ltd.), F. C. A. Coventry (G.W.Ry.), J. L. Farmiloe (T. and kV. Farmiloe, Ltd.), W. C. Lobjoit (W. and J. Lobijoit and Company), Douglas Mackenzie, Walter H. Willcox, E. Shrapnell Smith (Hon. Treasurer), and W. Rees Jeffreys (Secretary).

It was reported that more than twenty new members had joined the Association since the occasion of the commemorative luncheon held at the Hotel Cecil on March 2ist. A further five members were admitted.

The question of dealing with any further points which might arise out of the club's proposals for the van trials was remitted to the Trials Rules Sub-Committee in order to avoid any delay in the publication of the regulations.

The issuing of the certificates awarded by the judges appointed by the Association in connection with the Agricultural Hall Exhibition was approved, the same to be signed by the members of the committee who served as judges.

The circumstances attending several recent prosecutions for alleged emission of smoke by steam wagons were discussed and further action agreed. It is hoped that any member of the Association will immediately communicate with the Secretary in the event of a summons under this head being received, so as to secure proper advice.
