• To give an impetus to development of electric vehicles, The Electricity Council, acting for the Electricity Boards in England and Wales, have placed a letter of intent with Enfield Automotive Ltd for 80 battery electric vehicles. The objective is for the industry to carry out large scale operational research on the performance and use of electric light vans and cars, including the effect of different battery charging routines.
