Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Transfleet Services has won a five year contract, believed to be worth around £5 million, to manage and operate the distribution fleet of Premier Brands.

Under the contract, Transfleet has agreed to purchase Premier's entire fleet of 118 Ford Cargos and Dodge delivery vehicles, for £1 million.

Premier Brands, which was formed in May last year following a £97 million management buy-out from CadburySchweppes, has a projected turnover of £300 million, and expects to sell more than 150,000 tonnes of household products in Britain this year.

Transfleet will distribute all Premier's products in this country from six regional depots in Bristol, Birmingham, St Helens, Leeds, Cambridge and Lisburn in Northern Ireland.

During the five year contract, Transfleet plans to replace 80% of Premier Brand's Fleet of 13-tonne allround-access vehicles, each with sliding side doors and rear roller shutters. Every vehicle in the fleet will be painted in Premier Brands' new livery by the end of the year.

George Cuffe, Premier Brand distributionmanager says, "Of the three national operators we looked at, two told us what they could do for us if we wanted it, but Transfleet asked us what we wanted and then tailored its service to our needs.

"There wasn't a lot in it cost-wise, but Transfleet were very accessible and we were impressed with their speed, practicality and willingness to match our require ments.

Fleet-hire company Interleasing is planning to separate its truck and car daily rental fleet from its mainstream contract hire operation. This move comes at a time when Interleasing's parent company, the Cowie Group, is planning to float shares in its finance division, of which Interleasing forms a part.
