Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Griffith and Elder of Bury Si Edmunds — the UK's largest producer of single axle weighers — has introduced a low cost multi-axle

weighbridge designed to check weigh all commercial vehicles up to maximum weight artic combinations.

Its all electric system works off a 240 volt supply and includes a digital display with a printout, which can be sited up to 50rn from the five-metre long platform.

The static weighbridge has a claimed accuracy of + or —0.5%, while its indicator is graduated in 10kg increments.

The 30-tonne capacity bridge weighs 2,400kg complete with load cells and can be easily installed in a shallow pit, provided there is adequate drainage.

Level approach and exit areas, however, of at least 10m, are needed for accurate weighing.

The British-built system comes complete with traffic control lights and costs £6,100, including delivery.
