Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS TRUSTED WITH GOLD BULLION, INTENSIVE CAB PATIENTS AND MRS. PROWSE'S KETTLE.

The Ford Transit is the overwhelming choice of security companies and ambulance services.

That explains both the gold bullion and the intensive care patients, so where do Mrs. Prowse and her kettle fit in?

Well, Mrs. Prowse is a sprightly lady of sixty-eight She's lived for the past fifty odd years in a tiny farm cottage in deepest Cornwall.

If you wanted to drop in on her for a cup of tea, you'd take the main road headed north out of Penzance. Seven miles or so on, you'd turn off the main road.

At this point virtually all signs of civilisation disappear from most maps; you're now in the land of the most sure footed of sheep.

Well, being so far off the beaten track Mrs. Prowse can't exactly pop out to the shops that often. So she's a regular customer of Kay's mail order catalogue, part of Great Universal Stores plc.

The distribution arm of the G.U.S. group of companies is called White Arrow.

Each year they deliver huge volumes of parcels to towns and villages througl the United Kingdom.

To achieve such a volume, White Ar run a fleet of 2,000 vans.

And every one of them is a Ford Tra Each Transit travels an average of 25, miles annually and if you really want tc into statistics, you're talking about a tota yearly mileage figure of 50 million mile White Arrow's Transit fleet The man with the awesome respc bility for those 50 million miles is White Arrow's Fleet Director As you'd expect he's the constant focus ittention for all Transit competitors.

He knows a great deal about the van Lrket and has plenty to say on the subject ''We test models ofjustabout every other rilar panel van on our fleet he begins, goes on the Transit has always proved better vehicle. All costs are recorded on -flouter Every single mile is loxed and ; been since 1968. The Transit comes in everything!'

A satisfied customer indeed.

'We're delighted with the new Ford nsit and plan to progressively replace our :ire fleet with the new model!'

Those are the words of a man whose it is to scrutinise vans right down to the ,-stick White Arrow, as you've probably now gathered, is a growing business. Not only do they serve the needs of the G.U.S. group, they also deliver for many other companies.

In the words of Wh ite Arrow's Managing Director, John Abberley, "White Arrow are specialist in parcel delivery to home and business, challenging for the number one position in parcel distribution:' In aiming for that number one position they're driving Britain's number one van.

The old Ford Transit served White Arrow's requirements to perfection. The new one has even more loadspace, significantly improved fuel economy and much greater levels of cab comfort.

As you'd expect, a wide range of derivatives are available in the new forrn, including the version with the 2.5 direct injection diesel engine. It's a unit that has turned in world beating fuel performance figures.

Setting out to surpass the legend of the old Ford Transit was a monumental task. But surpassed it has been; the new Transit is even better than its much lauded predecessor although it still retains all the classic Ford Transit traits.

And though naturally we're proud to be associated with the police, the ambulance services, the security and motoring rescue organisations that are among the many Transit users, we really couldn't hope for a much better seal of approval than that given by White Arrow and Mrs. Prowse.
