Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

When it comes to heavy haulers, Scammell was the most prolific of builders, but to me its Mark 2 Contractor was simply the best. True, only six of them were made – four originally went to Wynn’s Heavy Haulage and the other two to Pickfords – but don’t let that small number detract from what a power house they were and still are. At first glance, this sextet may look similar to the standard Contractor, but those in the know will spot the Mark 2’s higher, more superior look that oozed confidence.

Powered by the 450 Cummins engine, drive went through an Allison automatic gearbox plus a four-speed Spicer auxiliary. And while Scammell only rated them for a 250-tonne gross weight operation, the guys who worked these 6x4 ballast box tractors will tell you they could handle two or three times that weight with ease. No jest – they’re awesome.
