Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

II Thread repair kits are now available from V L Churchill under the Recoil and Threadsave labels.

The Recoil system requires the damaged thread to be first drilled — where necessary — and then tapped before a helically wound stainless steel coil is insetted. The thread is suitable for both steel and alloy.

Recoil kits consist of stainless steel helically wound precision inserts, HSS tap, installation tool and instructions, contained in a metal case.

The Threadsaver is a cleaning and reclaiming tool for use on spark plug ports where damage. often caused by incorrect plug installation, is restricted to the starting threads, which can be repaired easily in situ without recourse to bench work.
