• Managing director of the Eurotunnel project, Dr Tony Ridley, says that 25% of construction is now complete. At the terminals about 65% of earthworks are finished, and construction work is valued at £2 million a day.
Lorry Ban
• The next round in the London Lorry Ban air brake silencer battle is set for 2526 July, when lawyers representing the road haulage industry and the London Boroughs Transport Committee go to a Judicial Review.
TLS floatation
• Manchester-based truck rental group TLS was floated for 24 million on the unlisted securities market yesterday. The company, which was founded in 1979, owns 664 CVs and 575 cars. The money will be used to expand the fleet and to buy leasing businesses in the West Midlands and Glasgow.
