TRANSACTIONS in ex-British Road Services' vehicles are reported from four areas this week. Activity has been greatest in the Northwest, where many one-vehicle transfers have been made.

NORTHERN AREA Two lorries (12 tons 14 cwt.) have been taken over from Hacketts Haulage, Ltd., 229 Cross Lane, Salford, 5, by Mr. T. A. Metcalfe, 80 Carmel Road South, Darlington.

Other assignments arc a lorry (2 tons 19 cwt.) to Messrs. McMinn and Ferguson, Laurel Bank, Castle Douglas, by Mr. W. Storey, Portare, Ackworth ; one (2 tons 17 cwt.) to Pearson (Hauliers), Ltd., Brooklands, Penrith, by Mr. J. W. A. Mr. A. C. Harrison, Glazebrook, has assigned a lorry (5 tons) to Jay-Pee (Transportation), Ltd.. Kerfoot Street, Warrington, and one (44 tons) to Mn J. E. Stanley, Osborne Cottage, Block Lane, Chaddettork, near Oldham.

WEST MIDLANDS

A lorry (3 tons) based in Steehford has been transferred to Messrs. E. M. Murphy and Son. Salford, by Mr. R. Lovatt. 4 Edgehill Road, Royton. Messrs. C. and

L. Gordon, 29 Gowcr Street, Longton, have made over a lorry (75 tons) to Storey Bros. (Haulage), Ltd., Eccles, near Manchester.

EASTERN COUNTIES Messrs. 3. H. Walker and Sons, /35 Star Road, Peterborough. have assigned a lorry (3 tons) to J. H. Walker and Sons (Contractors of Peterborough).
