Transport's country bus and coach department have been reorganized by dividing the territory covered into two divisions. The southern division, with headquarters at Reigate, embraces the south-eastern, southern, south-western and central districts and is under the control of Mr. C. E. Ayres, operating superintendent. Mr. W. I. Kirshner has been appointed divisional engineer for the area.

Based on St. Albans, the northern division includes the north-western, northern and north-eastern districts, with Mr. H. F. C. Adcock, divisional superintendent (north), in charge. Divisional engineer for the area is Mr. K. Shave.

W/HEN policy on vehicle bodybuildIN jag prices was considered by the recent annual conference of the National' Employers' Association of Vehicle Builders, at Portrush, Northern Ireland, a resolution was carried that each branch should adopt a list ef minimum prices for its area, and that where a member was asked to quote for business in another area, he should have access to the price list for that area.

Discussion on the relationship with nationalized transport resulted in an instruction to the Association's general secretary to make representations in the appropriate quarters with a view to protecting the interests of the bodybuilder.

Resolutions that a scheme be considered for better co-ordination of branches in agricultural districts were referred to the executive council, with authority to make a re-allocation of districts.

Mr. F. Siddall, of F. Siddall and Co. (Manchester), was installed as president. Mr. J. H. Beale (Lincoln) was elected vice-creesident, by virtue of which office he is president-elect.

Scarborough was chosen as the centre for next year's conference.

MILE. FILM HONOURED

THE recently completed film, "One Way Only," produced for the British Road Federation, has been selected for showing at the Venice Film Fertival of 1949 as a representative documentary. This festival, which is to be held from August 11 to September I, is the oldest and largest international review of art, drama and films, and was resumed in 1946. The audience is composed largely of representatives of the international trade Press, but visitors to Venice at the time are able to attend.
