• Girvan haulier Robert Robertson is awaiting sentence at Ayr Sheriffs Court for offences involving vehicle excise duty fraud. Robertson of Lendalfoot admitted two offences of fraudulently displaying vehicle excise licences; two offences of making fraudulent applications for them; and two offences of obtaining them by deception.
He denied three similar offences and a charge of obstructing the police.
Adjourning sentence for a social enquiry report, Sheriff James Gow said Robertson could be facing a custodial sentence.
