Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Yorkshire Rider has placed the first major order for Volvo BlOM single deck buses.

A total of 10 51-seaters with Pluton Derwent bodies will operate from Rider depots in Huddersfield and Halifax. They are licenced for 24 standing and will replace double-deckers on a number of Pennine routes. The high-floor buses were chosen to avoid bottoming on hilly routes. Rider already runs a fleet of BlOM coaches which it finds reliable. Lower operating costs make them preferable over standard replacement double-deckers.

A further 50 Volvo BlOM single deck buses have been ordered by South Yorkshire Transport.

Mainland production of the chassis moves from Leyland to Workington later this year.
