TRANSPORT Under Secretary John Horam has announced that £320m (at November 1 1978 prices) will be available to local authorities in England Wales in the forni of Transport Supplementary Grant.
The grant is related to £110 million of estimated expenditure and will be paid, as last year, at a rate of 70 per cent on each authority's accepted expenditure above the threshold, based normally on population. For shire counties there is a different threshold. An authority's grant will be based on whichever of the two thresholds gives the more favourable result.
