BLACKPOOL " INVASION " BY LEYLAND

WHEN more than 80 Leyland singledeck buses converge on Blackpool from widely scattered parts of Lancashire tonight, a fleet of police cars will meet the " invaders " and escort them in smalll, batches to the Winter Gardens.

The occasion will be the annual works ball of Leyland Motors, Ltd. This major traffic operation is becoming. a familiar one to the Itcal police. Over 3,000 employees and their friends will be transported by vehicles they helped to make, from 142 picking-up points in the Preston, Leyland, Southport, Wigan, Bolton and Blackburn areas. The return trip will Like them practically to their own doorsteps.
